The marriage of Emma Simpson and Barry Smith was celebrated at Geelong Botanic Gardens. As Philip said "...this is a great place to do so (marry) because, while it is a beautiful place, it is not perfect
As it has endured the variables of the climate,
It has encountered heat, wind, squalls and unwanted invaders
Not free of fault or blemish,
yet it is welcoming and peaceful
It is open and inviting
And here we can celebrate the health and healing of the natural world.
Here, too, we may be aware of the truth:
The kiss of the sun for pardon
The song of the birds for mirth
One is nearer God’s heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth
Mal and Dannielle marry at RAAFS Beach
Malcolm Vose and Dannielle Bate were married at RAAFS Beach - the place where Dannielle first realised that she would spend the rest of her life with Mal. Sunshine and the sea, friends and family merged to make the day one to remember.
Adam and Faith
Adam Wilkie and Faith Terpstra were married at the Geelong Botanic Gardens. In a simple yet beautiful ceremony, Adam and Faith declared their love for each other and received God's blessings, as well as those of the family and friends who gathered in the gardens. A string quartet, sunshine, age-old trees and love combined to ensure the memory of this day would last forever.
The Wedding of Chris and Shannon.
Chris and Shannon are married at Ocean Grove! A beautiful day, a beautiful bride - a perfect wedding! Chris and Shannon thought the day was 'awesome'.
The wedding took place under a white marquee on riverbank at Ocean Grove in glorious sunshine. Shannon and wedding party arrived in an enormous limo and while Chris waited at the alter, the group processed in to Ronan Keating's 'This I Promise You'.
As Chris and Shannon pledged their love, they began with a 'hand' ceremony - gazing into and offering each others hands as symbol of all that will be shared and created in their marriage, and sealed the wedding with a 'sand' pouring and blending ceremony, symbolic of the blending of two into one, forming a new and unique pattern while the character ond colour of each still exists.
A reception followed At The Heads, with the party going well into the night, echoing back to the banks of the river, where this beautiful union was formed.
Lofty Celebrates
Fifty
years to the day after registering his first truck, Lofty Menheere
celebrated a half-century of business activity. He and his wife of 49
years, Lola, were presented with commemorative pens by their children
and grandchildren at a special event at the Marcus Hill Hall.
The
afternoon's activities included a formal ceremony led by Philip
Christian. The Menheere family and their 100 guests enjoyed viewing a
short movie incorporating historic photographs and interviews with
Lofty and his son Mark Menheere. Other photographs on computer screens
became the stimuli for plenty of reminiscing.
Norm
Cobb shared some lighter moments. He personally thanked Lofty Menheere
with a pennant to mark the 50 year milestone. Lofty then responded,
thanking everyone for their attendance.
The
gathering of family and friends were treated to fine food and
refreshments provided by Steampacket Foods. Nobody was in a hurry to go
home.
